I think even any new router has some rough edges, this one has some new technology thats new to everyone. Specially StreamBoost and how it works. Went on-line with 5 xbox game consoles last weekend. Did pretty good I think regardless of the BO2 servers acting up and having mixed console connections.

Wireless security issues have been fixed in many if not most of D-Link routers. As for USB, I think it's been a push on what they want to install. Regardless of speed. USB will always be a bottle neck on a router due to processing and low performances. It should be good for low bandwidth movies or small file xfers. If your looking for performance with large mass file xfers, wired LAN is the only way to go. Why suffer at USB performance with wired LAN will always have the best performance? However, to each his own. I think since D-Link touts this has a gaming router rather than a media router, they might not have wanted to put USB 3.0 on it. Media routers seem to have the USB 3.0 version.

AC wireless from D-Link routers is the best. I enjoy the good range and stability and speeds D-Link offers. Many uses think that wireless issues can be pointed at one Mfr or another. That maybe true however if users would take a more in-depth look at there setup, configurations, HW and environment, they might see other factors that can contribute to bad wireless operation. Routers work well out of the box. However once they entering into an environment, anything can change out routers work, specially WiFi. It just sometimes doesn't work out of the box like everyone expects them too until these problems can be narrowed down to the source of the problem. Could be ISP services related or environment as well.

User should seek out Mfr community forums. There are experienced users and more detailed information about troubleshooting routers and WiFi there. D-Link has a good forum resource.

Cheers.

I never had a d-link product that i didn't regret buying, i was one of the early adopters of wireless N and i ended up buying their "eXtreme" line up which ended up consistently performing slower than wireless g and that's assuming the connection wasn't having issues unique to D-link. Wireless AC from d-link?? no thanks...

This is probably more upgradeable than the new Mac Pro.

It would be hilarious if this was incompatible with Macs.

ouch, only one USB 2 port? I was expecting two 3.0 ports on something this "innovative" and expensive.
