I wonder if this is in preparation for Steambox. It would be great to see gaming break away from the Windows environment.

Is this real?

This is what happens when you let Steve Ballmer bludgeon Windows to death.

It will be great to have games finally independent of the Windows platform.

How about a programmer to properly optimize this clunky-ass hog of an engine.

+1. Cryengine's lack of optimization continues to make my experience with Mechwarrior Online sub-optimal.

Honestly, I think your ire should be directed at Piranha instead of Crytek. Every game I've played with the Crytek engine suggests that it performs exceedingly well and scales ridiculously well.

Agree'd i ditched that worthless dog of a money wasting company, better stuff to do with my time, and better for it.

I have effectively ditched them, though I feel I should point out that they have claimed that many of the graphical issues (eg:advanced zoom) in the game come as a result of Cryengine.

I have plateaued in MWO as a free player can only have 4 mechs and I have 4 and they are fully upgraded. They've painted me into a corner as every time I want to spend money on the game I encounter a huge glitch that prevents me from spending the money in good conscience.

Great news. It's already a pain to get the first three Crysises going on linux, and impossible with C3. Any word on porting them to this new version, or will this be a future-release only type thing?
