The promo code apparently subtracts a penny from your order. That's right. 1 whole cent. Seriously?

You have to get a 2 year contract to get it free.

Just was reading today that there is a campaign to boycott Burger King. Apparently they are going to move their headquarters out of the US so they can avoid paying taxes. There are no more Burger Kings around me anyway. But if there were I would not enter one after this information about avoiding taxes.

Perhaps the US should lower its ridiculously high corporate income taxes. Even socialist Europe is more tax friendly than the US in that regard.

I'm saddened that the Canucks are more tax savvy than the US is. Totally lame.

If you don't want to pay the tax, then don't expect to use the infrastructure. BK doesn't seem to have a problem using water, electricity, gas, roads, police protection, ect. Last time I looked they made a profit. I would support a boycott if they move their head quarters.

Have you ever been outside the US? There are McDonald's, KFC, Walmart, The Gap, Old Navy, etc. in many countries. Of course they pay municipal, state and federal taxes. Their customers are all shopping at corporations with their headquarters in a foreign country. Maybe the rest of the world should organize a boycott while chanting the name of their country over and over like douche-bags.

BK is a franchise, the locations/Franchisees would still pay tax obviously.

Its just the headquarters.

I was considering the same thing: their pending inversion to avoid U.S. taxes.

They're not going to miss my money since I haven't been there in decades. But this is an odd way to try to curry favor from customers in the U.S.
