Yeah, how dare you have links to current pricing? blah, blah, blah...

Who should they link to?

And if they DIDN'T have links to current pricing someone would have bitched that the pricing was out of date.

Not what I was referring to.

agreed. How an AMD 8320 doesn't make a baseline build...or any AMD part now that the GPU prices are normalizing is beyond me. A $150 8320 is a far better baseline CPU than a 4670.

"far better"? Hmmmm.... Cheaper? Yes. Better price/performance ratio? Sure. But "FAR better" for what the baseline system is meant to represent? Not so definitive...

And when looked at as billed by MPC as "Baseline gets you a powerful system for gaming and content creation at 1080p" the Intel wins.

Content creation is one of those world's alongside server applications where, if a software vendor doesn't offer multithreading, into the trash it goes.

Games aren't usually multithreaded, but generally, if it needs CPU power, it's multithreaded. If it doesn't, it isn't.

Exactly, multithreading is always there when it's needed unless you're playing a game from 2010/2011 in which case even an amd apu could probably run anyways. You can't blame mpc for having thinly veiled sponsor ads, magazines have become less and less relevant and website ads make a lousy nickel for every 1000 visitors. If they cut off these types of company income they would have to fire the very few journalist that aren't unpaid interns.
In Canada they've made unpaid internship illegal because a lot of publishing companies were having more than half their employees unpaid or paid next to nothing.

Unpaid internships will never be illegal here in the US. At least not in the DC area. Unpaid interns make the DC world go 'round...

(And when it is revealed that politicians pushing for a "living wage" have legions of unpaid interns working for them the irony is ROFL-inducing)

I can't wait for the gaming engines to adapt to the Xbone/PS4's "lots of cores, but each core is weak" CPU setup as that will force multithreading and when those games cross over to the PC then the AMD processors will jump up in gaming performance. I'm tired of waiting for software devs to finally embrace multithreading.
