BenQ is getting ready to release a new 22-inch LED display intended for business users, but is sexy enough to find its way into a few homes as well. It's the BenQ BL2201PTE and according to the translated press release , it's available in "classic black." The pictures, however, show a glossy white bezel with somewhat of an Apple flair, but arguably better looking.
This is a TN panel with a 1680x1050 resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio. That's going to disappoint folks who were hoping for a Full HD display, regardless of panel size. Other notable specs include a 5ms response time, 12,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 250 cd/m2 brightness, a pair of 1W speakers, and VGA, DVI, and DisplayPort connectivity options.
As for ergonomics, the BL2201PTE supports tilt, swivel, rotation, and height adjustment. And for the environmentally conscious, there's also an Eco Sensor that puts the display in standby mode when you leave your work area.
The BL2201PTE is priced at €209 overseas, or around $295. No word on when it will be available in the U.S.
