Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet Shipping Early

Paul Lilly

More good news for budget conscious tablet shoppers. For those of you who pre-ordered a Nook Tablet from Barnes & Noble, it too is shipping early, just like Amazon's Kindle Fire and Kindle Touch. The Nook Tablet was supposed to ship out on November 18, 2011 (this Friday), but will be available for pick-up from B&N stores a day early.

It will also be delivered to doorsteps a day ahead of schedule, according to multiple online reports. And even if you didn't pre-order one, you can stop by your local B&N brick-and-mortar store and buy one on the spot, assuming there's sufficient stock.

The Nook Tablet is B&N's answer to Amazon's Kindle Fire. It's more expensive at $250 versus $200, but also better spec'd. The Nook Tablet is a 7-inch slate with a 1024x600 screen resolution, 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot.
