After some initial hiccups, Clevo is back with the world's first X79 gaming notebook.

Being a system builders means you're at the mercy of hardware partners, and sometimes that's tricky business. Remember when Intel recalled its 6-Series chipset because of a SATA controller bug? That left OEMs with their pants down. It was around that same time that AVADirect began accepting pre-orders for Clevo's P270WM notebook , which would have been the world's first X79-based gaming laptop. Well, things happened -- "complications," AVADirect says -- and Clevo scrapped the design, went back to the drawing board, and built the P570WM . After taking a mulligan, Clevo is ready to let gamers experience the first true X79 desktop replacement, and once again, AVADirect is front in line.

"It's no secret that enthusiast and professionals were ecstatic, following the news of the first X79-designed desktop replacement, manufactured by Clevo, and provided by AVADirect. Desktop replacements have become a growing demand based on their ability to provide the most robust performance available in a mobile platform," AVADirect explains. "The X79 Clevo P570WM sets out to raise industry standards, for mobile solutions, through its performance-driven ability to handle a majority of requirements existing with today's demanding software."

"The P570WM is a beastly laptop bound only by your budget. Pricing starts at around $2,760 for a configuration that includes an Intel Core i7 3820 processor, 16GB of DDR3-1600 memory, GeForce GTX 680M graphics card, 750GB Seagate Momentus hard drive (7200 RPM, 16MB cache), DVD burner, 9-in-1 memory card reader, GbE LAN, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

You can knock a few bucks off the price by downgrading the RAM and videocard, or go in a completely different direction and load it up with an Intel Core i7 3960X Extreme processor, dual graphics cards in SLI, up to four hard drives or solid state drives, and lots of other upgrades.
