AVADirect Adds 1TB Notebook Drives to HDD Lineup

Whoa there fella, hold the boat, you mean AVADirect deals in hard drives too? It's not incredibly unusual for system builders to sell standalone hardware, and like its bulk OEM brethren, AVADirect wheels and deals a whole host of PC parts, from cases to KVM switches, and just about everything else you can think of. Getting back to the storage side, AVADirect tells us the company just expanded its HDD lineup to include 1TB drives for notebooks.

There are two models available, the first being a Samsung 1TB SpinPoint M8. This drive is built around the industry standard 9.5mm form factor, making it compatible with a wide range of notebooks. It sports a SATA 3Gbps interface, 8MB of cache, 12ms seek time, 5400RPM spindle, NCQ, and other odds and ends.

The other model is a similarly spec'd Toshiba HDD2K11, though this one sits slightly higher at 12.5mm. It too features a SATA 3Gbps interface, 8MB of cache, 12ms seek time, 5400RPM spindle, and other goodies.

Both the Samsung 1TB SpinPoint M8 ($148.20) and Toshiba HDD2K11 ($100.27) are available now .
