First of all, Apple is not even important when it comes to Asus, so anyone mentioning the MacBook is somehow missing it here. You cannot build Apple computers from the ground up since they are bought pre-built and proprietary and use a very poor browser and system overall. I can ALWAYS build hands down a faster Windows 8 Professional PC that will blow ANY Apple and Linux computer out of the water. There is no reason to have choice in technology really, especially considering you can do everything with Windows 8 you cannot do with any other operating system and computer. This is proven, and not just my biased opinion. I have been using computers since the Apple II and when Windows was released, there was not even a point to do Apple anymore, not even with the phones, portable music players either. I still have the Zune 120 and love it.

We're already on Thunderbolt 2? I've yet to even see a Thunderbolt 1 port outside of a modern macbook.

I have also not even seen a Thunderbolt device or even know of one I want. This is kind of a big MEH!

For those that don't want to look it up, the socket is 1150 and the price is $289.99 in Canada and the US.
