Incidentally, this is why I choose ASUS over all others. Whatever they did with this board, will eventually trickle down to the others below it. Including quality of build. A board like this would persuade me to go back to the dark side...

X79 kicks some serious butt.

For those like me that want multithreading to the extreme the X-79 is still it. I have no use for any chip with built in graphics I will never use and I want the six cores.
This is the Mobo I have been waiting for so as soon as I can get one I will order it along with a 4930 CPU.

Nice but I want dual sockets.

I want to slap two CPU's in there. I could buy a server specific board, but they usually lack features and are designed for a specific case and format.

Is that being greedy? Then I'm a greedy SOB.

I'm ok with the few red buttons and calling it black (power and a few others). I'm more curious about the improvements over the RIVE that I have and the "tuning" for IB-E.

It would be nice if I didn't know that it's still limited by the X79 Controller hub. In the mean time I'll wait for Intel to get off its high horse and put out something that actually is an all around improvement.

It would be nice if the whole board was black to call it the "Black Edition" , and I'm referring to the red that's on it.
