Instead of "semi passive" technology, they should call it "passive agressive"

That video's baseline was annoying as hell.

You mean the music? Yeah it was real headache inducing noise.

i kinda like medium-loud; it means im not cooking my components :P

Does noise really bother anyone anymore? I mean, run a jet engine in my office..I don't care as long as that means power. Today when most people, if not all of us, are listening to music or just plain are wearing headphones is the noise emanating from our PC's relevant?

Excessive computer noise bothers me, and when I buy new components, I try to get whichever is the quietest in the range I need.

The idea of having a graphics card that is passively cooled until it gets really hot is a great idea.

The problem I can see here though is if it's like an HVAC system, where the fan profile is allowed to let the GPU heat up, then turn on the fans to cool it down to some level, then heat up again, you create thermal expansion cycles that cause stress on the hardware.

Probably not a bad thing depending degree, but still.

I like ASUS's marketing. Apparently turning the fan off makes for some kind of magical technology called "0dB fan technology"

In all seriousness though, I can barely hear (or not really, since it's noise my mind can filter out) my GTX 670's stock cooler on idle.

0dB fan tech.

That's not bad actually.

We still haven't even seen the 780 version of this card in the US. So what gives? We know they're currently selling in SE Asia, but as far as US/EU is concern, nothing. Haven't see a single stinking unit yet....
