Epson PictureMate

A decent ink jet, but it can't compete with the dye subs

Month Reviewed: November 2004
Verdict: 7
URL: www.epson.com

Of the four printers here, Epson’s PictureMate is the only ink jet.

Month Reviewed: November 2004
Verdict: 9
URL: www.sonystyle.com

We’ll admit it: Sony’s DPP EX-50 surprised us.

Olympus P-10

Incredibly small and convienient, but image quality and included media is a downer.

Month Reviewed: November 2004
Verdict: 6
URL: www.olympus.com

Don’t be fooled by the CP-220’s strikingly diminutive profile—thanks to the Olympus P-10’s cube shape and small paper tray, it actually has the smallest footprint of the printers reviewed here.

Logitech Z-5500 Digital

Since Logitech’s Z-680 5.1 speaker set currently reigns supreme in Labville, and is the only speaker system to receive a perfect 10 verdict in the past two years or so, we wondered what Logitech could possibly do to improve them. Now we know. The Z-5500 Digital system is better than the Z-680 in every possible way, with one small exception (more on that later).

Klipsch ProMedia GMX A-2.1

When Klipsch first released the GMX series of speakers, they were strictly digital and thus offered little value to PC users (nForce users notwithstanding).

A plain exterior hides ultra-fast performance

The eVGA e-GeForce 6800 Ultra AGP may look like a standard nVidia reference design, but its plain exterior belies a lightning-fast GPU.

Apple iPod 40G

The Lance Armstrong of MP3 players breaks another ribbon

If you don’t like ballet, it’s likely that the only possible enjoyment you get out of watching a performance is in wondering when one of the dancers is going to screw up and land with a spectacular thud on the stage.
