They should call it Bob. It's about as useful as Bob was.

( To anyone named Bob out there, please don't take offense. That statement was not meant to be derogatory towards you. )

Back pedaling on the interface name this late in the game is rather stupid. Unless of course the metro desktop does something spectacular like boots up in half the time... then that would require some sort of flashiness to the name like Jumpstart or something electrically charged. But the fact that windows phone uses the same name for its interface and then changing the win8 name is just silly. I have a wp 7.5 and I look forward to getting win8.

"Windows Boxes"

Alternatively, the "PBUI" -- Pretty But Useless Interface

Just call it 'Tile UI' or something like that.

This is so great. Not only has Microsoft failed to create a successor to Windows 7 that users are enthusiastic to purchase they couldn't even get the product name designed without problems. I am more sure everyday that Ballmer and Sinofsky have purchased a ton of Apple stock.

How about the "this o/s sucks so it doesn't need a label" UI?

Well, maybe they'll just call it "Tiles" or "Cards" or "Simon". How about "Corners"? Or "Mindows" (minimal windows)? Or they could just change the spelling to "Metroe"...or how about "Metrui"? Oh, oh! "Metrow"!
