Maximum Case Contest: The Winners!
UPDATE: Here is a list of the winners.
CoolerMaster Centurion 590: Steve Waage
SilverStone CW02: Joshua Frank
ThermalTake Armor A90: Stephen Randolph
Element T: Eddie Nelson
ThermalTake V3 Black Edition: Sean McCormick
Congratulations guys, and don't hesitate to take pictures with your brand new cases, and send em' on over!
As we've shown you before, we've got a lot of stuff crowding up our lab (and offices. and hallways). But! Once every so often, our rational minds get the better of us and we schedule a lab cleaning. Oh, how we do cringe at the thought of spending a day sorting through wires, chords, peripherals, boxes of GPUs, monitors, and stacks and stacks of cases.
Which is where you come in.
Since we have more cases than we know what to do with, we're giving away five of them:
SilverStone CW02
ThermalTake Armor A90
ThermalTake V3 Black Edition
ThermalTake Element T

CoolerMaster Centurion 590

I loved the reviews of the GTX 580. I'm currently building my own computer and love the advice about what to put in it. I also loved the article about the Dream Machine, because it’s amazing to see how computers can be maxed out now of days.

Being a pinball collector, I really liked the article How to: Play Classic Pinball Machines for Free with Visual Pinball. BUT, that was a bit over a year ago! So, of the many great articles over the past year, I liked the 100 Websites To See Before You Die article. So many cool things to discover in there! Finding cool sites I would not have thought to search for was really enjoyable. Oh yes, I really could use a case for a DAW PC project!

Ok, I know the contest is over, but, since I somehow missed it, I still wanted to share my 2 cents.
Best article for me by far was the "Why Most Hardware Specs Are Total Bull" by Bryan Gardiner: http://www.maximumpc.com/article/features/why_most_hardware_specs_are_total_bul
Thanks Bryan, you do us all a great service with pieces like this one.

my favorite article in the last 12 months has to be the Sandy Bridge budget build because i've been maing lists of parts with prices trying to come up with an awesome, reasonable rig based on the 2600K for about 1200 dollars and here comes along the perfect article to help me out.... i'll be building a new machine here real soon once the chipset bugs are ironed out! --->DEAN
PS. my case is whoa-fully out of date ;-)

Definetly the article on how to build a HTPC. My wife disagrees as it nerd pressured me into dropping a G note to build one.

My favorite article was titled
T-Mobile Loses 318,000 Contract Subscibers in Q4
I am a T-Mobile subscriber and enjoy their service and selection of phones but this opened up my eyes and now I am considering the other mobile service provider giants. If they are losing that many customers, there is something I am not seeing that they are.

I'm a 3rd year subscriber, but of all the articles I've read [none have ever bored me :) good job!], the Videocard Showdown in the March 2011 magazine was purely awsome. I loved the whole old-school boxing look [reminds me of the Arena in Elder Scrolls IV], and Loyd's decision making process was flawless. Keep up the awsomely incredible work, MaxPC!

I enjoyed reading "The Best 18 Videogames of 2011 That You Don't Know About" because I am kind of picky with games, and I think I have found my next game (besides Minecraft) in Firefall.

My favorite article was "High performance upgrades....On The Cheap" in the July. 2010 issue. The wife and I have 3 children in college at this time I am constrained to minor purchases for my systems. This article gave some good bullet points when considering upgrading parts of a system rather than building a whole new system.
Thanks,

Let me start by saying you're my favorite magazine for the past 3 years. Each month you've so much useful information for my next upgrade. If I have to pick an article as my current favorite, it will have to be the "Build the Ultimate Gaming PC...on a Budget!" from Nov 2010. While I have no intention to build a bright RED PC for my home office, that article is right on target for all my need. The $1371 is right on my budget for my next PC. I want to rip the benefit of a SSD/HDD combo, and your article give me the basic know-how.
Now, all I need is one of these beautiful cases to go with my new rig.

Since that was Nov 2010 an it is now almost March 2011 you know that budget pc will be hald the cost for the same parts. You still want to keep to the $1371 price point cause you could get quite a bit more power after a year's lag time :P

The best article I have seen in the past 12 months in the list of all of the websites to visit before you die. It was very interesting to see the variety of sites out there as well as the backstory behind them. It was a lot of fun to go through the list and check out the different sites.

Great article in November 2010 on how to build a great gaming PC on a budget. Nowadays we are all pinched a bit for the extra bang our dollar buys and this article was one that really hit home.

Sandy Bridge!!
1) The fact that we can get a top of the line Sandy Bridge processor for $317 that has the same performance as the Core i7 975 Extreme for $1000.
and
B) The fact you can get a processor but not a motherboard due to the massive recall of the Sandy Bridge chipset. LOL!! Thanks Gordon for the headsup!!
