I have one of these HP monitors, but the one with the regular CCFL backlighting. I'm really impressed with these monitors. I've never seen blacks so black. And the colors are much more vivid than some of the LG LED-backlit monitors I've seen. When I needed a new 1920x1080 monitor however, I couldn't justify paying $290 for the 2310e because I was able to get a similar Samsung on blackfriday for only $150. Quality, I prefer the HP though.

I have never needed crappy monitor speakers and this being Maximum PC, how many here really care about the sound from the monitor?

No speakers bollocksing up the works is a definite benefit to this monitor.

My only wish is that we had this beauty in a larger size.

How many monitors actually come with speakers these days?  Even if they did they wouldn't compare to a stand alone set or good headphones so who cares.  Is this a touch screen monitor?  If not then who cares about fingerprints?

Who's Chris Angel?  Somebody's tailor?  Some sandwich guy?

The only person I know with a last name of Angel is Criss Angel, the magician/illusionist.  I must have missed hearing about this Chris Angel guy.

Sure, it has no speakers, but as mentioned before, if you're going to spend big money on a brand-new, top of the line monitor, I believe it's safe to assume you'll also have the money for an audio package.

Besides, every time speakers are built into these monitors, they always sound tinny. I think it's good that speakers weren't built in to this monitor; they just go to waste in my opinion.

I would pay extra to not have speakers...and fingerprints? really? somebody likes to get all touchyfeely with their pron. This monitor should have gotten a kickass.

That should DEFINITELY keep a MONITOR from getting a kick-ass! review.

If someone is out to buy a monitor of this quality, and they dont have some sort of sound system hooked up to their computer already then theres a problem.

For a 23" monitor, max resolution of 1920 x 1080 is too low.

Why have manufacturers lowered resolution for these largr screens, stopping at full HD?

my 24" samsung has a reso of 1920x1200, how much higher of a compatible resolution do you think they would set it to?

When you review speakers, do you deduct points if they don't come attached to a monitor?

No speakers?

I hope the monitor didn't lose a point b/c it didn't come with speakers.

avatar

dedgar

I'd give it points for NOT coming with speakers.

Haha yeah wow thats stupid.. Who honestly buys monitors like these and expects speakers.. And its not like you are touching the monitor all the time, it just sits on the desk
