Asus P8Z68-V Pro Review

Everywhere I've looked, the ASUS P8Z68-V Pro board is touted as having 4 SATA-III (6Gb/s) connections along with 2 USB 3.0 though you have clearly stated that this is not the case. Is there some sort of trade knowledge that you posess that's caused me to misinterpret the information or am I somehow looking at the wrong mobo? I was geared toward purchasing this exact board for my gaming rig build based, primarily, on the recommendation of Maximum PC but now I am leaning toward the Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD4.  I'd really like to know if I'm doing the right thing or if I'm jumping ship based on a misunderstanding.

I think Gigabyte has the right idea with their Z68XP boards with a single HDMI port.

I don't understand why these boards have a D-Sub/VGA port. Are there that many people still using a VGA connected monitor? The people still using VGA could use an adapter off the DVI port. I think it would cut down on clutter on the I/O panel or the space could be used for a more important connector USB, eSata or somethig else.

Valid point beegie, I would think that most folks that would select this board for a system build, wouldn't even consider a VGA connection for video output.  Possibly there for convienence, as a back up to DVI??.....I wonder.
