RE: Vertical displays: We're actually working on a feature that compares different monitor configurations (3 vs 6 etc) as well as display orientation (vertical vs horizontal) so keep your eyes out for that!
@RAVEN6, we didn't leave the cameras on while installing the videocard, or setting up the software, because it took a few hours spread out over several days. We weren't sure how long it would take us, so that didn't wind up getting shot. We do have a video of the physical build though!
@MrBlueCheese, I'm shooting to have this review completed by the end of the week, for the June print issue...not sure yet when it'll go up online. As far as recommendations, what kind of recommendations did you have in mind - set up/software/etc? Let me know, and I'll see what if I can include the info you're looking for in the official review!

Have y'all tried flipping the monitors so they're vertical so that you have five monitors 6000x1920? Then you wouldn't have bezel problems.

That is pretty cool, but yeah the bezel issue... Maybe someday someone will work on a bezel-less monitor for true surround vision.

I would consider getting the setup if u could rotate the displays 90 degrees and stack them across in a single row as that would greatly reduce the bezel issue. It would look like AMDs setup when showing off their Eyefinity technology. That would be awesome.

Tried Gaming on a 1080p TV, sucks, looks awful. There comes a point where pixel density and how big the screen is can ruin an experience. TV's are good for Movies and a few console games that can get the most on the screen. Sometimes i feel like my 24" is too big for PC gaming, i noticed using a 19" at LAN parties i do much better in FPS games. Sorry guys, but i make fun of people who bring 50" tvs to LANS and get negative K/D.

I do my gaming on a 1080p 32" monitor @120Hz and it works like a dream. Anything from FPS to dungeon crawling to platforming is all good. The screen is big enough to mostly fill my field of vision at 4-5 feet yet small enough that my eyes don't have to "cross the room" to see what's happening.
I've seen a few that have brought 42" and 50" screenes as well as those who bring mutlimonitor set ups with a trio of 22" monitors but amongst all of them my 32" seems to hit the perfect sweet spot for me.

The bezel looks like it would be annoying. I'd prefer to purchase a high quality LED TV then hook my computer in via HDMI.
Sony BRAVIA 55" 3-D Ready 1080p 240Hz LED-LCD HDTV $2,300

Like I said in the other article/video posts, six screens in not good for gaming. You either want three, five or nine. There are configurations above that, but who has the space, money, or horsepower?
I really doubt Crysis 2 is going to be new benchmark. It's not a bad game, but Metro is more demanding. Crysis 2 and Crysis demand about the same power. The thing that really sucks is the textures are lower res compared to the first. I've read several reports now of people who can play 2 on very high, but cannot do so with the first. Yes, it's been optimised more, but it's also been toned down. I'm disappointed, I expected more from them. It's clear that it's not a console port, but it's clear that the consoles heavily influenced a game that simply was not possible on consoles.

You could have at least told us which games you were playing and what input devices you were using for the racing game. Give credit where credit's due and give those who aren't familiar with the game some point of reference for in-game performance. Otherwise, thanks for the show!

I can almost guarentee it's an xbox 360 controller. keyboard and mouse does not work on a racing title, and for the purpose of this video a wheel would be to cumbersome to move around. Most likely a Razer Onza TE, sense that's the best versions of the best controller ever made. (and they have a review unit.)

I would prefer to see 3 2560x1600 panels aligned vertically.
4800x2560 would be great, with only 2 bezels to deal with, although the 30" panels I have seen have pretty thick bezels.

I'm assuming we're going to see a review next week (or so)?
I can see where the bezeling can get in the way of the gaming.
Does MaximumPC have any recommendations on what to do if someone purchased the six-panel display?

if you are going to use 6 screens and spend the money at least max it out and go for seamless screens. I have a video wall at work of 6 screens. they put in what you have there after showing the wall off the customers they realized how crappy it looked. And went seamless screens. If you guys used that setup then that would make the games look better. i cant get passed seeing a black line right in my field of vision during playing.

How about 3x30"(1920x1200) displays set up vertically... to do away with the center bezel. Is this even possible? (5760x3600)

Thx for the shits&giggles, but really no-one games @ 3x2.
3x1 (5760x1200 all the way).
Also; With regards to C2, the 6or8gigs doesn't matter as it's a 32bit/dx9 POS.
Kyle @ [H]ardOCP dumped a huge shit on it:

I am now going to bend my 56 inch dlp to see if I get the same effect, minus the bezel intrusion.

ideally you'd want 9 slightly smaller monitors for a shoot-em-up, even with the same size bezel I bet you wouldn't even notice them.

Nice how about posting a video on how it is hooked up, Every site always boast about running 6 displays but yet there is not one that actually shows off the connections the video card the set up and software. I cant be the only one annoyed at this am I?

If you use SoftTH you can edit the .cfg file to shift the screen up or down and away from the bezel.

Can't cuss in a video, Really!? I think I remember Gordon dropping a few F-Bombs awhile back. This isn't public television, no FCC requiring a 10 second delay, let'em fly. I also agree with a previous poster; seemless monitors would have been the way to go. Looks awesome though.

I was surprised, but I didn't mind it.
But keep in mind while the occasional cussing may slip, it shouldn't be used to the extent that f-bombs are dropped every other half minute. They're still need to maintain a professional image here.
Or as professional as possible. Their slogan is after all "Minimum BS". :D

Hate censorship. Hopefully MaximumPC keeps it real. Would like to see some behind the scenes on how they setup the monitors. Good demonstration!
