No BS Podcast #69 The Where the Hell Have We Been Edition

comment Commentsprint Printemail EmailDeliciousDiggStumbleUponReddit

This week, we test the theory that absence makes the heart grow fonder and bring back the podcast crew after a two-week layoff. On the show, Tom, Will, Gordon, and Andy explain just what could have taken them away from their podcasting duties. As Maximum PC nears its 10th anniversary, we also take a look back at our greatest accomplishments... and our biggest blunders! You can add your thoughts on this subject in the comments.

We also answer a load of tech questions and hear back from a few listeners who have actually followed our advice. And this week, Rant of the Week!

avatarWhat you guys got right

As requested in the podcast, here is some feedback: Two of the most helpful reviews you guys did were the Labtec LCS 2424 2.1 speaker system and the Logitech Z680 5.1 speaker system. I believe the both got 9s and Kick Ass awards. I bought both, and still use both to this day. I have never been dissapointed with either set of speakers. They definitely kick ass!

Hey guys, great podcast! Long wait, but still good. For anyone interested, we recently had Dave Murphy on for an interview and PC versus Console debate over at the Game-Central Podcast (http://www.game-central.org). Feel free to check it out.

(sorry for the shameless plug).

To Gordon, concerning the rant, fighting IS NOT part of hockey. They only allow it because that's half of what American audience buys tickets for. It never existed before the NHL came to the US or whenever hockey became mainstream in the States.

Yes, I am Canadian, but no, I do not like hockey, or most other sports.

avatarDoubt

I'll give Maximum PC the benefit of the doubt. The editors are hard at work making a great magazine better. Have you noticed the new layout? They are also hard at work building a whole new website here. In order for MaximumPC to be profitible they need to watch how many people they have on the payroll compared to how much profit they take in. So they can't afford to just go out and hire a bunch more people. This is all extra work tacked on top of everything else they were doing. They still have to do reviews and goto tech shows and report on those and everything else..

You guys are doing a great job. I just wish you guys had a third arm to satisfy our every whim. Thanks for the great podcast and magazine. I really like the new layout.

If MaximumPC were a child, it would be in the 5th grade.

avatarGrow a pair you wimps!

3 friggin' weeks later and you give us a Podcast 48:39 long? Things must be slow in the tech world. I suppose your next magazine will be 3 pages long?

You guys are weak and pathetic. Looks like Norm "TF2" Chan brought over PC Gamers work ethic (wink)

avatarNo 69 jokes???

I couldnt believe someone didn't make any 69 jokes on this podcast, I guess Dave would've been the one to make these, but he wasn't there. Nice to have you onboard Norm, and no "Im the managing edwards!"

BTW I'm Captaincaveman in TF2. great podcast the strike was successful. We can all go back to slacking off at work again.

This means at every time point I'm going to add a few extra minutes just to aggrivate the bus riding community.. LOL.. Passengers are so funny they want free rides and I just tell them NO. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy in my heart.
