No BS Podcast #15

This week, on the podcast Will, Katherine, Dave, Norm, and Jeremy discuss:

  • Dell selling Ubuntu
  • Intel says the UMPC is dead
  • The Digg riots

All that, plus a live update from the Maximum PC Lab, reader questions, Ask the Doctor and our first ever live trivia contest in this week's edition of the Maximum PC Podcast!

Gordon's celebrating the birth of his daughter this week, so there's no rant. Personally, I think that's a pretty good excuse :) Sorry for the inconvenience, but the trivia contest is really good and I'm sure you'll like it. If you want to find out how to enter and have a chance at fabulous prizes (or a Maximum PC t-shirt), listen to this week's podcast!

just to elaborate more on the stability testing question for those interested:

CPU:
Prime95 as stated, but I like SuperPi as well.
There is also an app called Orthos which tests both CPU/GPU, and it has a nice GUI.

RAM:
Memtest86 (you need to boot off of a cd or floppy)

I was wondering why you are doing a podcast rather than a low budget tvcast (if there is such a word). Why not do what digg does with "Diggnation"? I want to see as well as hear! What do you say?

Actually, that would be pretty badass. Although it would increase the production time just a wee bit...

i don't know... i can't lisent to it at work then.... or anywhere els without a computer

Absolutely retarded. Not the podcast mind you, but the fact that people get so mad over Digg.com Jesus Christ people, lighten up. There are so many problems in the world, and your taking up arms..over the fact that a company wanted their proprietary information off the net and wanted to punish the dude who leaked it. I mean, if someone released a list of Visa credit cards and your credit card number was on there, wouldn't you want to punish the dude who released it? Same principle in effect here.

I can see it now "special Maximum PC Podcast: Gordons Rant". This would of course be a special 40 min. rant with comments from the other guys.
