I have Search service on, everything is default. There is no search when right clicking. Maybe you don't have SP1?
I also have no search button on the start menu (i have the search box, just no butto). SP1 takes this button away.
I miss the search from XP, where you could click start then search and select what to search for easily and choose when it was modifed, size, etc.
In Vista, I have to do a search from the little text box, then click Search Tools, then search pane, then advanced, then change what I want to.. TOO MANY STEPS!

Most soundcards will only put out a 2 channel PCM signal over a co-ax/optical connection, or pass-through an already encoded stream. There are a few that can do on-the-fly encoding with Dolby Digital Live or DTS Live. The ASUS Xonar D2 can, the current top shelf X-Fi can, and AuzenTech cards can.
I specifically went for a card with this capability because I use a 5.1 home theater in a box system with only one analog input and an optical input so getting 5.1 over optical was important.

Includes a nice utility that allows ondemand memory cleanup, similar to AMD's tool.

I think enabling windows search and indexing is a waste of computer resources. This is personally for me though. I have the ability to find any file that i have without a search program.

Great PodCast. Thanks for mentioning me. Awsome.. Kinda like getting my name in the phone book just as an important milestone in my life.
Some people don't want to listen to advice about the Coax sound connection not dishing out 5.1 audio. I think that the only thing that 5.1 audio with the Coax connection is when watching a DVD movie.
Games and everything else in Windows is going to be stereo. I've tried to give people advice and was belittled so I don't do it anymore as I obviously don't know what I'm talking about to people that know otherwise. They want it to work and won't believe otherwise.
The old Nvidia Nforce 2Ultra based motherboards by Asus was one of the few motherboards with Hardware 5.1 Dolby Digital on the fly conversion through the Coax and it was freaking awsome. That was about the only time in my life that I did not use a Creative sound card.
The last time befor that that I did not have a soundblaster card was before Creative started selling sound cards. ie ad lib and emulators and stuff like that.

Keith, how could we not recognize the fact that you've posted a comment on damn near every article we've posted for the last 3 months? :)

Hey, I'm the guy who challenged Will about the search option.
Yes, I know that you can just search with the space at the top right of
any window, I was just proving that it is quite possible that what Gordon said was true.
Here's my proof:
