So if I download one of these apps that takes Metro behind the barn and shoots it, would W8 be a worthwhile upgrade? Especially given the $40 price point for the first couple of months?

Seeing Linux on Steam....I mean Steam on Linux, might be interesting. Would love to play more on Linux.

Always hate hearing another person is leaving. Feels like losing a old friend.

We need a least two a month though please. Some of the topics are old by the time you get to them. Not hearing the podcast in a while make people start looking elsewhere to get a podcast fix. Even listening to random unrelated stuff is great.

Nathan we're going to miss you. And I'm sure you're going to miss your California weather! It's been in the upper nineties and one hundreds for the past few weeks here in Houston. (I think you're moving to Houston?)

avatar

nedwards

So yeah, why didn't anyone warn me Houston is this hot?!

avatar

frewster

Don't worry, the heat index was a paltry 126 last Thursday. You'll be fine.

PCLinuxguy

Going to miss you Nedwards! Loved your articles and system builds.

That was a lot of swearing comming out like a podcast with turret syndrome otherwise very funny and entertaining.

avatar

praetor_alpha

avatar

limitbreaker

I love for me, on the More Like this section above the comments, it's:
All Rant Edition
All Rant Edition Part I
Nothing But Rants Edition
and
All Rant Edition Part II

Is it trying to tell us something about what we like? :)

I use my optical drive for my old dvds, blue rays, and to load my music from my old albums. Internet goes down and downloading movies and large video games takes too long.

avatar

TV seasons are still cheaper to buy on disc here. I use my optical drive to rip them to my media server for watching around the house.

avatar

j_j_montez

Same here. Netflix and Amazon can't match my preferences as well as my own server.

avatar

fallout330

How are we going to rip those DVD/BlueRay's using DVDFab or other software, without an optical drive?

avatar

We'll miss you Nathan, hope to hear you again on the podcast in the future.

Gordon's soundboard...priceless.

I played around with it when it was first mentioned about 4 years ago. I was just pressing buttons randomly during a podcast, and it spiced it up so well and naturally. I'm surprised that it has taken them this long to figure it out!

Agreed.
