So I finally removed this from my podcast program. I really didn't want to but with one of my other favorite podcasts stopping production I had to find some new ones. It's too bad, I really enjoyed these but it seems they don't want to do them anymore.
I added the tested podcast which really isn't too bad, they are starting to grow on me now.
Anyone else have any suggestions? The other two main ones I listen to are the vergecast and twit.

If you're trying to fill the No BS void and get the latest news on PC hardware, try TWICH(This Week In Computer Hardware) or PCPer.

The Rich Eisen Podcast(NFL Network) is a nice change of pace. He doesn't just talk football -- he's spent considerable time on Oscars and TV shows as well. Not much tech talk I'm afraid. http://richeisen.nfl.com
For comic books, movies, and current events absurdity of every kind, Salty Language is worth a look. They're not for everyone. http://salty.libsyn.com/
Tested is good, but they go a little long for my taste. They are nonetheless very entertaining. In many ways (Will and Norman) they are what the Maximum PC podcast used to be.

Aren't you about due for your quarterly podcast?
Seriously though, everybody seems to like your podcasts and it would be nice to hear from all of you on a regular basis.

Two months and no podcast. What a joke. How about you just tell everyone that you are done with podcasting, since it's obvious you don't give a damn anyway.

Hi guys! Where is the 2011 All-Rants edition of the NO BS Podcast? Please post one soon!

I don't think there were enough rants of good enough quality to justify one. Or any rants at all. If this podcasting weather keeps up, it doesn't look good for this year either.

Gordon - just listened to the podcast (i'm behind) - if you need to request ammo in BF3 just place your reticle over a Support soldier and press Q. same goes for health and "vehicle extraction". that player will hear an audible voice asking them for whatever it is you need.

I'm so very glad that the gang is back. It was a pleasure to listen, and scary funny in parts . . . you know who you are with the weapons by the nightstand. ;)

Really, Insulas, get a grip. Some of your complaints are legit, but a timeline breakdown of the podcast is a little much. Sure the tech talk was a little light. And sure the podcast schedule has been inconsistent. Despite those niggling dicrepancies, I still enjoyed this installment. Pop culture debates beat the hell out of "What's your recommended build?" Q&As any day.

Amber, after hearing about how you have a zombie go time bag.... I have a new respect for you.
Keep up the podcast guys, they are getting too far and few inbetween.
Edit:
I like how after I post this one of the podcasts listed above was the where the hell have we been episode...
"This week, we test the theory that absence makes the heart grow fonder and bring back the podcast crew after a two-week layoff."
Wow, only a two-week layoff. What a difference it is now.

I think this podcast was quite entertaining even though it was light on tech cotent.
Waiting so long between podcasts just means that the stuff you're talking about is alredy old news they will have to be recorded more often.

I miss the podcast -- glad to hear one finally! It's an interesting thing. It seems like Tested's podcast tends to ramble on which makes for great spontaneous humor. This one seemed to be a little more "get in, get out". I enjoyed the medieval naming conventions this week. The "Trebuchet 9650fx" is sure to be a hit! There must not be a whole lot going on in the PC world these days. I know CES just wrapped and there may have been some interesting things going on, but with PCs it just seems like "more cores, faster video cards, SSDs -- rinse and repeat".

Oh good, so did I. I was pretty plastered when I sent it in though, so maybe I should be thankful they didn't do questions this time around haha.
Who knows though. I might get put on the chopping block later :X
Gordon has free reign to rip me a new asshole though. I won't get butthurt. :D

Btw, Gordon, pressing Q will (99% of the time) request ammo if you are pointing at them.

Which they won't pay attention to, because no one looks at the damn map.
I totally agree with Gordon about BF3, it's a good game but the players are about as sharp as a marble.

Just finished listening.. after about 34 minutes into the podcast just about all tech talk ended and was replaced by Elves/Klingon, zombie weapons, and applying to be an astronaut discussions. Alex was right to tap out when he did! About two thirds of this podcast was full of non-computer, non-tech related material.. how is this NOT BS??
Gordon at 33:26 - Apparently Gordon don't read MaximumPC.com as there was an article about the EVGA SR3 on October 21, 2011 http://www.maximumpc.com/article/news/evga_shows_dual-socket_super_record_3_sr3_x79_motherboard
Nathan at 43:52 - The Farnsworth house is at 14520 River Road, Plano, ILLINOIS, not Plano, Texas.
This podcast was just released today (Jan 13) but was recorded last week (probably Jan 6). Does it really take a week to get this ready for released?
Again, the "Gordon Rant" is more the "Gordon & Nathan Rant". As Gordon mentions, hard to get upset enough to rant about stuff that happened months ago. The rant part of the podcast has really lost it's edge and humor.. 20 minutes of Gordon trying to fake rage and Nathan not helping the situation any.
Another podcast mostly void of anything "MaximumPC" related and sounding more like people having lunch at a Jack-In-A-Box just talking about random stuff. Maybe if you all would just spend half an hour talking about core computer info and not tacking on an extra hour talking about nothing but fluff, you all could actually do a podcast every week or two. Just a thought.

The podcast frequency really went downhill after Norm and Will left, sorry to say. I mean, 2 MONTHS between what was originally a weekly podcast? That podcast was one of the main things that kept me feeling connected to the magazine and site, and without that regular weekly infusion, I'm less likely to visit the site or continue my subscription. Really hoping you guys will step it back up.

How much of THIS week's podcast is missing?? Thought it was now a requirement for the podcast!! :-)
I agree with Zharin. I wrote this on Nov 6, 2011 concerning podcast #180..
"I have enjoyed your podcasts in the past, especially when Will Smith was on them, as back then it was fairly consistent in being made every week. But since Will fled and took the telephone message code with him, I have found less and less value and entertainment with each passing podcast. It seem often that by the time you decide to TRY and produce a podcast, the topics are dated and you usually don't have any insightful or informative comments that I haven't heard already heard weeks earlier on other computer/technology podcasts. Also, Gordon's rants seem more & more forced, thus less funny and actually have become dueling rants with Nathan.
Hard to complain about something you offer free.. but.. unless you all can iron out your technical difficulties AND produce on SOME regular schedule (can't do at least every other week?), I find your podcast an unnecessary waste of time for you to produce and me to listen to. You make a great magazine and website.. but a lousy podcast!"
I didn't listen to the last 2 podcasts but will listen to this podcast just for old times sake. But IT IS BS that if you all can't do this on some regular schedule and stick to it. If not, I will probably never bother wasting my bandwidth downloading again as there are plenty of other informative, regularly scheduled podcasts available from twit.tv, revision3, PCPer, C/Net and others..
