If you're in the Electronics section of the Amazon store and type Windows 7 in the search bar, the first thing that pops up is Snow Leopard. No lie. Windows 7 isn't even the second thing either. Another version of Snow Leopard is the third. Crazy!

The sentance.

I have registered to explain. "The 3rd least annoying" doesn't work as a sentence because it is not clear whether you are comparing to everyone you know or just 3 people. If for example you know 100 people, 3rd least annoying would make Norm not very annoying. If however you were just talking about a group of 3 or so people, that would make him very annoying.

Mac Ads!?!  WTF. 

If anyone wants to know the definition of "selling out", I am fairly sure that's it.

What ever happened to "Steve Jobs is the devil."?  I guess it's "Steve Jobs is the devil but please go buy his computers even though we are a PC centric medium who generally trash Macs on a regular basis."

So, Gordon uses his twitter thread to keep track of his rant topics, right? Well, I seem to remember a tweet that went something like this:

"I am freezing my fucking nuts off here in shorts with the entire fucking police department." 

 

Would that not be a good rant topic?

Bluray

I recently ripped my entire Bluray collection (3) to my server. I used AnydvdHD's ripper. I figured out that the big M2TS file (for me, the first file in BDMV/stream) was the actual movie.

 

I tried to play it using VLC, but the bitrate was soooo high (~32 megabits) that it stuttered pretty bad, and had severe visual artifacts (using C2Q Q9300, 8 GB DDR2-800, GTX 280). Just for kicks, I tried using Windows media player.... and it worked fine. Then I realized that I had ffdshow, courtesy of Fallout 3, and WMP was using that. I had some audio issues at first, then i used the tray icon and used a different audio track or filter or something.

What is up with all the Mac ads on this site all of a sudden?  Getting kinda tired of clicking an article and then have to click through another ad saying buy a Mac get a free Ipod touch.

Conservative Subscriber Reponds to Mr. Will Smith

Hey Will,

     I'm a Christian and longtime MaxPC subscriber; I was listening to your apparent distain for conservatives(at least the creator of Shadow Complex) in regards to gay "marriage". A penis and a vagina together produce a new life, a baby, something homosexuality cannot say of itself, because it's not natural, nature puts it's stamp of approval on heterosexuality and a one man one woman together in a committed marriage producing children and having the pattern continue is natural. Will, I'd encourage you to back what's natural and not cave to the politically correct pressure, if it makes you feel better most of the voters in California oppose homosexual "marriage" and your state's supreme court agreed it's wrong(6-1). Homosexuality is caused by rejection and I personally know people who Jesus Christ has set free from homosexuality-including myself.
