Zii's gonna dominate.
Here is my rant of the week:
I was watching television, a comercial for pizza hut comes up. Didn't really pay attention to it until the end when they boast about having an Iphone app to order pizza with, I just rolled my eyes as I usually do when someone mentions "I"- anything. But then I realized, they made an app to order pizza with... IT'S A FUCKING PHONE! CALL THEM. WHAT THE FUCK! People honestly buy into this bullshit? For fucks sake. I'm flabergasted, and ashamed to call myself human.

@Bowman
You were able to get the PC Gamer album art onto Zune, why not Max PC's?
@The Show
I really dont care if the Zii kills the touch, I'm more worried about it against things like Samsung's tegra device and the Zune HD.

I've been doing a bit of research on this topic lately as I gear up for my own podcast...that will be for sale.
The word "podcast" has become synonymous with "free". However, when you change the title from "podcast" to "Audio book"....now you can sell it.
Same thing obviously.....just one you can sell and one you really cant.
I would pay a small fee (69-99 cents) per episode as long as they are no less than an hour and nobody's f*#king singing.

The minute it comes out someone is sure to upload it to bittorent and there goes the whole idea of paying for it. How stupid do they think some people are to "pay" for a podcast?

Undoubtedly people would pirate it. If you don't mind searching a little, you can find scans of the most recent Maximum PC online too. However, some people are willing to pay for the convenience of not pirating, some like to support us, and some have moral objections to piracy.
I could steal movies and CDs, but I have some money to spend on that stuff and I choose to support artists I like, mainly so the people who make things I enjoy can continue to make more stuff I like. Just because I choose not to steal doesn't mean I'm "stupid".

If you did have to charge for the podcast, couldn't you consider the cost as part of the magazine subscription I already pay monthly for?

I'm not going to pay nerds to go on Skype to complain and banter.

Yes, because it would sound just as good if you did that - To be clear MPC is not going to charge for podcasts.

I always like when Gary joins the podcast. It seems like when he's present, the gang gets into some pretty deep and informative conversations.
I'd pay .25 for the podcast with the rant.

I'd pay $0.75 a podcast if it includes Gordon and his rant.
$0.50 at most without.
Yes, his rant is worth that much IMHO.

So there will actually be a show NEXT week, rather than in two? awesome.
I would be happy to spare maybe 50 cents for the podcast if it was once a week WITH the rant.
I love winamp. Whitta pwns.

Just to be 100% clear, we're not planning on charging for the podcast. I was just curious. There are a few shows that I'd pay for, though, including the old Game Theory show.

- I think the podcast is worth paying for, but I really don't want to pay for something that's been free for this long.
- I <3 Winamp (despite the fact that I use iTunes). The interface needs work but I've loved using it since the 2x days. "Winamp sucks" deserves a face kick.
- Android-based media player... I look forward to checking it out; see if its any good. Those features are awesome.
- Screw HP support.
- Fuck Gary Whitta. (No, I'm just kidding; he seems like a good guy. aluminium. herbs. issues. schedule.)
- Will, you goddamn racist.
"We kept calling him Sulu." "I'm fucking Kirk!" Sulu's original actor, the great George Takei, is gay. Does that mean Norm was being literal? ;D

Winamp is good man, why the hate?
Lightweight, syncs fine, you can back up your iPod.
Explain yourself!

It's fine if you don't have much music. If you have a large collection (25k+ songs) it gets unwieldy.
