No BS Podcast #107: Everybody Do the Google Wave
Posted 05/29/09 at 01:45:22 PM by The Maximum PC Staff
No Star Trek talk this week. Scout's honor. Instead, the gang talks about futuristic technology that's here today! Several technology conferences going on this week hosted product announcements from Google and Microsoft. At the I/O developer conference in San Francisco, Google announced their support for HTML 5 and the ambitious Wave service. 550 miles away in San Diego, Microsoft revealed their Bing search engine that will replace Live Search. The team also tries out Hulu's desktop application, and ponders its ramifications for Boxee. As always, we take a few listener questions and Gordon spills his thoughts on James Bond in his rant of the week. Join us for all this and more on this week's No BS Podcast!

Farewell Cruel World.
Submitted by Keith E. Whisman on Thu, 06/11/2009 - 11:22am
Well Hello everyone.
I have a buyer for all my PC gear on Craigslist. I'm going to be offline for a while. I'm going to spend more time with the kids and getting myself back in shape. I'll still be reading the magazine but no Internet. No gaming.
Love you guys and I will miss reading the articles here and posting my own twisted thoughts on articles posted here.
Have fun and as I said I'm going to miss you guys. I'm an addict and I put the PC befor my family. Like an addict I have to get rid of what I'm addicted to.
Farewell
Best Wishes

Just noticed this farewell message. Sorry to see you go, Keith! Best of luck, and should you one day find a balance between family and the Internet, we'll look forward to seeing you be an active reader/poster once again.

The IT dept at work has slipped up and the pcs in the computer room have internet access. I really miss you guys and I really miss my PC but I'm getting back in shape and the children are happy.
I still suffer from the shakes now and then. I'm actually suffering but I know I can beat this thing.. LOL..
Take care Paul, Will, and Gang.

My jaw dropped for a moment
Submitted by I Jedi on Fri, 05/29/2009 - 1:24pm
My jaw dropped for a moment when I saw that I was downloading at 1.8Mbps for this podcast file. Usually its always capped at a mere 856Kbps, but for a moment it was almost at 2.0Mbps... That file downloaded pretty quick. NICE! Now if it would just stay permanet and not go flying back down to 856Kbps we'd be in business.
