I think I'd rather have a Chromebox, or save up and get a Macmini.

I'm no mac fanboi but I'm perpetually wondering why no PC OEMs make a macmini-like device that runs on Windows 7. Seems like an obvious thing to make and seems like it would be popular but no, everyone refuses to do it and those who do make similar looking devices always make them underpowered (such as Zotac and the Chromebox).

for these mini pc, i expect them to have an SSD for super fast bootups as a media pc

Media PCs don't boot...they resume.

My primary HTPC has an old 80G Raptor for the OS drive, it takes less than 5 secs to go from Sleep Mode to interaction. SSD would be overkill, it provides almost no performance advantage for regular HTPC usage, has far less storage, and is considerably more expensive.

The Second Comi...

Since Chicken Pants got a new Nexus thing, he's surfing the information superhighway like the hip kids do. It appears from Zotac's site:

http://www.zotacusa.com/products/mini-pcs/zbox/zbox-nano-ad10-plus.html

That this thing is 314 USD (apparently sans HD).
