Yahoo Apologizes for Blocking 'Occupy Wall Street' Protests, Blames Internal Spam Filters
Yahoo is denying accusations that it knowingly and willingly censored email messages related to "Occupy Wall Street" protests, a leaderless non-violent resistance movement upset over the disparity of wealth and power in the U.S. Protestors accused Yahoo of foul play when their emails containing a link to the organization's website were flagged as suspicious and blocked from being sent.
Several videos on YouTube show Yahoo blocking email messages with "occupywallst.org" in the body, but then going through just fine once the URL is removed. Yahoo didn't deny this was taking place, but blamed it on internal spam filters.
"We apologize 4 blocking 'occupywallst.org' It was not intentional & caught by our spam filters. It is resolved, but may be a residual delay," Yahoo Customer Care tweeted yesterday.
According to a report in the International Business Times, some emails with the phrase "Occupy Wall Street" are going through on some Yahoo accounts, while others are still affected by the apparent residual delay.

Well, Yahoo! has a horrible record regarding its attitute towards protesters, so while they might be telling the truth, I doubt it. Easily three-quarters of the mail I get on my Yahoo! account is SPAM, most of it obviously so, and most of that comes from senders or basic formats I've marked as SPAM countless times, yet it keeps rolling in.
My guess and bet is that this blockage was intentional on the part of the moral midget.
