XFX Fermi Spy Shots Leak
As we inch closer to Friday's supposed Fermi release date, new spy shots were bound to emerge. We still don't know clock speeds, performance, or price, but damn this thing is shiny! If you're as easily distracted by sexy silicon as we are, scroll down to check out the pictures posted by Chinese rumor site Experview.
The heat sync on this design is pretty elaborate, but then again, given the heat it has to dissipate, we expected as much. The rumor mill is suggesting that the GTX 470 will offer performance better or on par with the Radeon 5850, while the GTX 480 will offer a 5-10% jump over the 5870. Of course these are all still just rumors, and only time and testing will tell the true story. Stay tuned to Max PC for the latest on the Fermi launch.
Anyone out there still think Nvidia will pull a rabbit out of the hat?

Is it me or does eveyrone else agreee that this seems to be shapping up to be one battles when the 9700 was released? Nvidia was late to the game and when it did arrive, the FX seriese card was more of a hot leafblower then a actual competitor.
Fermi with all its heat piped and steriod muscle glory seems to be headed that way.

If it works the price is worth it...
Got a new Radeon HD 5870 and it died after 2 weeks of use.
I will never buy ATI again
Had to put my 3 year old Nvidia 7950 GX2 in that I have never had a problem with

Dude what are you talking about, yeah cards die every once in a while, but that is not a reason to stop buying form a company. Hard drives fail that doesnt mean I stop buying WD or Seagate b/c they both fail. If you had RMA'd your card you'd have a new one a week later. Also btw my Nvidia 7950 died on me after about 2 years, doesnt mean I stop buying NVidia.

Sounds to me like a Fan boy who couldn't wait and bought the ATI card, now that femi drawing closer to release, it just died so that he can complain and justify his need to go back to nvidia. Like nvidia never made any bad working card when they release products.

Anything electronic can die at any given moment for any reason. Your comment makes you sound just like a baby.

Besides the fact that ATI has had a known problem with their 5xxx series and some 4xxx series cards for a couple years now and has not fixed them.
And electronics don't just die - there is always a cause. Its pathetic that after 2 weeks a video card would die, its one thing if it comes DOA or if it dies after a couple years, but 2 weeks....
When you spend $400 on something, you expect it to work - especially because it is a card that has been out for a long enough time to get all the bugs worked out.

I'm using a 5870 for month now with NO issues. Before that was a 4870, 3870, and a 1950GT without issue. Your card should have a warranty, get it replaced. But yeah, Electronics do "just die". Something happened during shipping or faulty hardware such as a capacitor. It happenes. Do you expect the same thing when buying a brand new car? New cars have recalls ya know for faulty hardware? But thinking that Nvidia has NEVER had a problem like that, is simply ludicrous.

My Fermi died after 2 hours of use!
I am never buying an NVDIED card again! Cause you know.... 1 card is
all it takes...since its not an exception but the rule obviously!Lets set aside all of these pathetic fear tactics by the fan
boys...
I have had both Nvidia and Radeon cards and both have run well!
I am running a 5xxx (5850) card and it has not missed a beat, every
current game is running maxed out and its barely running hot.
BTW if it died in two weeks, that doesn't rule out the possibility
that it got bumped around a little too much durring shipping or that it
was a bad card.

It's not a leak picture at all, it's the way they get people to talk about it so the sell more of them, lame...
show some real numbers!! thats what is important, price and benchmarks is what we need, looks of it don't do a thing when playing games

wow its time to move my GTX260 from win7 / winXP to my linux box. Then I'll get this long-awaited FERMI :)
I've been pro-nvidia , although I still have / been using ATI-8500DV on my ol MPC (been running 24/7 since 2002).
I love the Medusa and other nvidia benchmark animations :) GREAT JOB ! Lets just see what FERMI has to offer :)
