Xbox 360... great. Now go back and push PC games again.

Considering the top 17 most pirated games of 2011 were on 360 I think I know why everyone bought one.

Meanwhile PS3 piracy rates were so low they weren't even in the top 500.

PS3 FTW on that at least.

Funny. I just gave my PS3 away. The XBox360 (new version mind) works fantastic as a Netflix player (way better than my HTPC- go figure) and Halo 2 is the game of choice. We also like fooling around with the Kinect.

The PS3 was jst gathering dust and hadn't been turned on in months. I found Blu-Ray for a 40 inch TV to be pretty much worthless as there was little difference in video or sound quality. I guess if I had a 4K 60 inch set, perhaps...

Just wondering--were you expecting to get the most out of Blu-Ray by using the internal speakers on your TV?

My guess is that your TV isn't set up properly. There's no comparison between DVDs, Netflix and Blu-Ray. Blu-Ray wins, hands down!

The reason the 360 now makes a better Netflix player is because you have the option to flip manually through your queue, you aren't stuck waiting for that slow-ass scrolling to take three minutes to get to something you know is around position 75.

Well, I was actually talking about how good the Video and audio is. It is simply terrific. The flipping through stuff I do not really know as my son uses it a hella lot more than I do...

At this point, beating the Wii for sales at some period of time is not a big deal. The Wii has market saturation now.

So true. I wish MPC, and every other editor/journalist would realize this and stop reporting such stories. If their going to post the amount of units sold in a month/year, then please post the marketshare along with it. The 360 still doesn't hold a candle to the Wii.

*sigh* If only the 360 had come with a Blu-Ray player...

Really? Blu Ray? Who gives a fig about Blu Ray. The media is still to expensive compared to DVD movies, and you really do not get any extra content that is worth the price difference. When I can purchase DVD's from between $5 - $10 new, where is the incentive to upgrade to Blu Ray?

He is probably referring to the storage space available on a Blu-ray disc compared to a DVD.

Tenhawk

You mean people still watch Blu-Ray?

avatar

DCantu1970

People still play games on PCs, so I suppose anything is possible nowadays.

avatar

Kinetic

Yes. Unless it's a comedy, in which case 1080p doesn't make it any funnier.

Also, while the enhanced disc storage space is nice, overall I'd argue that a bundled hard drive with every console is more important though.

Of course. When people want an absolute clear picture and not something that looks like crap.
