What the Gmail!? Server Hiccup Disables 150,000 Gmail Accounts
Imagine if Google one day up and decided to call it quits, turning off its servers and getting out of the online game altogether. Kind of a scary thought when you consider just how dependent we've become on Google's services, from search to word processing, and especially to Gmail. We don't foresee the fat cats at Google ever making such a drastic decision, but it is pause for thought for around 150,000 Gmail account holders who woke up this morning to find that their email, attachments, and Google Chat logs had vanished. What the Gmail happened?

I hate it when email goes down!
I had to deal with losing my email for about a day and a half (I use GMX mail). However, for some reason, I was able to access my inbox by visiting the .co.uk portal...
I used to have Gmail, until I became concerned about profiling and correlation of searches and account holders. I mean, I have nothing to hide, but I guess for one I had my imaginary tin foil hat on when I deleted my Gmail/Google account and two, I was impressed with GMX. Plus, I was unexplainably tired of Gmail. It did its job and did it well, but I've had the account for three years!
