With all the trouble Seagate is having with their 1Tb and 1.5 TB drives, I just hope that Western Digital can maintain their usual high standards.

Why does it have to be green save the planet slow? Good god being first when it comes to slow is not something to brag about. I for one will not acknowledge this drive. I will wait for the inevitable Baracuda or Samsung speedy ass 2TB HDD.

I would say for my purposes, i will be building a Home files server soon and i would rather go and buy 4 seagate 1.5tb from newegg for 130$ a piece than these 2tb for 230-240$. i'd rather buy one more 1.5tb to bridge the gap in space (will be in a raid 5).

***I would not recomend the seagate 1.5TB drives in RAID, they have known issues with RAID of any level. Try to check on forums and see if the controller you will be using is going to work***

-I'll spellcheck later

Here's the article we ran on this issue back in December '07: http://www.maximumpc.com/article/news/rumor_random_freezes_plague_seagate_15tb_hard_drive_owners

It's amazing how illogical a business built on binary logic can be.
