Western Digital Adds Vudu to WD TV Live
Western Digital's WD TV media player family just got a little bit better with the addition of streaming movie service Vudu. That's in addition to several new sports and entertainment services WD rolled out to the WD TB Live and WD TV Live Hub media players, both of which are already content rich with support for Netflix, Hulu Plus, Blockbuster, CinimaNow, Spotify, Pandora, YouTube, Facebook, and a bunch of others.
WD TV customers now have access to Vudu's catalog of movies and TV shows in Full HD 1080p and Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 audio. After registering Vudu on a WD TV media player, users will receive a $4.99 credit towards Vudu movie rentals, which start at $2 for two nights.
In addition to Vudu, WD also rolled out support for SnagFilms (free), XOS College Sports (free), SEC Digital Network (on-demand), Comedy Time (free), and Watch Mojo (free).
There's also a new WD TV Remote app that's supposed to improve navigation with several advanced features, including a gesture pad to help navigate menu screens and services, and a QWERTY keyboard for text entry and search, as well as other enhancements.

I have one. It does have quite a bit subscription based channels that I was already paying for. I really do like my little WD box. The reason why I went with it over the Roku was becasue I wanted to be able to stream from my DLNA servers which Rockus cannot.

How many free channels can you get with the WD box? It seems like it has a lot more subscription based services which is nice, cause Roku only has a few, but Roku also has several free channels I enjoy like Crackle and Crunchyroll.
