the ball has sensors that can control any movement and speed, so the mouse can move as it pleases in the VR. If you flip a computer mouse over and use the ball with your figer it'd pretty much be exactly the same thing. But you would have more intelligence and experience with computers, and could adapt to controlling the ball alot easier than the mouse could. I'm sure if you gave the mouse enough time it could possibly get the hang of the input device eventually in order to move more fluidly.
In the hands of a master, any object can become a field improvised, lethal weapon.

I like how your signature meshes with this article, I can see a mouse who's mastered a trackball for increased Leathality....
Also no one mentioned the mouse on mouse action...if you consider the trackball a mouse

From the video, it looks like the mouse has no choice but to run, since it is on a damn ball.

Yeah, I don't see very many options for the mouse either. It did manage to avoid walls, but it never turned left, or try to manuver backwards. I'd be interested if it could jump.
