ViewSonic VX2451MHP-LED Monitor Aimed at Mac Heads, Windows Users Invited Too
ViewSonic tells us its new 24-inch LED monitor (VX2451MHP-LED) is designed to compliment an Apple Mac environment, but is also appropriate "for those who appreciate good design and want something different." What's different about this display is its all white frame and stand complimented by an ultra-slim body that measures just a hair over 1.4 inches (3.6 centimeters if you want to be all metric about it).
As indicated by the model number, an LED backlight runs the show. It has a Full HD 1920x1080 resolution (cue the groans from everyone who prefers a 1920x1200) with a 20,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 300cd/m2 brightness, 5ms response time (2ms GTG), and 170 (H) / 160 (V) degree viewing angles.
ViewSonic built a pair of 2.5W speakers into the display, and there's also a 3.5mm audio-in port. Connectivity options include D-Sub, DVI-D, and HDMI.
The VX2451MHP-LED is available now in the U.K. for £169 (about $264 USD). No word on when it will ship stateside.

There's a glaring issue. It's a TN panel. All iMacs and Apple's displays use an IPS panel. ViewSonic is going to have a tough sale with this one.

"Meant to compliment a Mac environment"? Who are they kidding? This thing is fugly. I will always be a PC modder and enthusiast at heart, but even I can see that (besides the silver paint job) this thing falls very short of being the sleek and svelt attitude that apple embraces in it's product design.
What they should say instead is "Meant to help Mac wanna-be's try to fit in".
FAIL ViewSonic.
