Verizon Mum as 4G Data Network Goes Down Again
Verizon Wireless appears to be suffering from more problems on its data network all across the U.S. as customers from coast to coast complain of both 3G and 4G outages. This is the second time in less than a month that Verizon Wireless has had trouble with its data network, with no specific reason given for the last time wireless customers had to contend with spotty connectivity.
This time around Verizon has yet to come out and issue a generic statement acknowledging there's a problem followed by the obligatory line about engineers being in the process of fixing the mystery ailment. But one trip to Verizon's support forums and it's clear something's amiss. From New York City to Colorado and several other locales, increasingly frustrated subscribers are complaining of no 3G or 4G service whatsoever and a lack of communication on VZW's part.
"No service in Nashville. Ironic that a communication company can't communicate," one subscriber posted.
To be fair, 4G LTE is still in its relative infancy, and bumps in the road are to be expected. But as evidenced by user comments, a little communication would go a long way.

I was wondering if it was just me, or if there was an actual reason for my connectivity being so spotty. I lose data in places where I have had fine access for months. My phone can't make up its mind between 3G and 4G. Using an HTC Thunderbolt w/Cyanogenmod 7.

I have a Thunderbolt as well, and switched to CM7 about 2 weeks ago. I also changed radios when I made the switch. I haven't had any problems.
Did you update your radio after you installed CM7? If not you're likely using the stock Android radio that came with your ROM. I've been using the ALPHA Gingerbread radio and it's been working very well for me.

Network/Company must be too big. Time to break Verizon up into smaller pieces... no one piece larger than AT&T.
Gee... where have I heard that before? Oh yeah. I said it.

Last week I couldnt connect to 4g and lost 3g for a day and a half, tried rebooting to no avail. I then shut down, removed battery for a minute or so, booted back up and had 3g and could connect to 4g again. Something to try atleast if you are having problems.
I am on the HTC Rezound.

I lost 4G LTE overnight. Still have 3G though. Whats strange is when 4G goes down....it goes down for the entire country. Its like all LTE services are controlled by ONE mother effin server or something.
