Paul, you just wrote an article about how NAND chips do not scale that well and will be a dead end process. Any comments? Heh.

Ah yes, the so-called 'bleak future' of flash-based solid state drives, in which UCSD researchers predict the end of the road is 6.5nm in the year 2024. I'm holding off commenting until 2020 at the earliest.

BTW, I dropped some links in the comments section of that article. Not sure if any of those were the ones you were referencing, but check them out if you please.

Why don't they just say 16GB rather than 128Gbit? This article will probably sound misleading to those confused about bits/bytes, although it is cool to have NAND shrinking so fast...

Storage Bytes are smaller than actual Bytes.
1MB of storage = 1000000 bytes
1MB is = 1048576 bytes

That's why they report in bits... can't honestly confuse those with anything else.

Because 128 looks so much bigger than 16, and a lot of people don't know the difference between b=bit and B=Byte.
