Tim Schafer: Brutal Legend Skipping PC “Right Now”

Sometimes, crying is ok – like when a loved one dies or it’s your party. Bawling like a little girl, though? Well, that’s only permitted when Tim Schafer’s involved. Typically, of course, Mr. Schafer’s games turn on the waterworks by sending players into fits of laughter thunderous enough to awake even your newly deceased loved one. But now, he’s finally got us blubbering out of sincere grief. Why? Because Brutal Legend is a console exclusive.
Eurogamer asked Schafer why he’d make such a glaring omission, to which he replied:
“Well it's really an action game, that when you play it you'll see that it was meant to be on a console."
However, all hope isn’t lost just yet. While a PC version may not be in development at the moment, Schafer neither confirmed nor denied the possibility of such a port in the future.
“We are really focused on the Xbox 360 and PS3 version right now,” he said.
Pray to the rock gods, people. It’s all we can do at this point. And if you think that’s sacrilege, well, look at it this way: The normal gods didn’t give you Brutal Legend on the PC. What have you got to lose?

I would rather have no PC port than yet another crappy one. What we need is more games conceived for the PC, not more games ported to it.

Psychonauts was oringinaly going to be a console only title. This was very upseting, considering that Tim under Lucas Arts produced games for the PC primarily. It ended up on PC anyway. I wouldn't threat.
You can have your recession. I'm not participating.

If only there were an $11 peripheral you could attach to your PC to give it a gamepad...
And people with an Xbox 360 already have one they can use.

The main problem is that they would have to make the game for keyboard & mouse, and from what I've seen of the gameplay, it would be horrible. They wouldn't sell very many copies if they required you to have a gamepad to get it to work.

360 controller? I still have my original Gravis pad in the basement from over 10 years ago. The gamepad is not a new idea for the pc, and I wish thesedevelopers would figure it out.

When Spiderman: Web of Shadows launched it was the console versions that were being heavily downloaded. The PC version was a buggy piece of crap and most people didn't even bother to attempt to pirate it. Piracy will ALWAYS be a problem for ALL modes of gaming. The secret to fighting it is to make games people WANT to buy.

Well this bit of news sucks. Oh well, I wish Tim well and hope the game is successful enough to give Tim the freedom and monies to do Psychonauts 2.
