Teen Geek Gift Idea: Speech Bubble Speakers
We've seen speakers of just about all shapes and sizes, but up until now, never have we seen one in the shape of a speech bubble. That's exactly what the "Speak-er" looks like, a set of $100 computer cans that comes with both left and right units.
Tech specs include:
- Drivers: 2-inch full range
- Power: 6W per speaker
- Dimensions: 4 x 6 x 2 inches (H x W x L)
- Input Impedance: >12k Ohm
- Signal to Noise Ratio: >90 dB
- Frequency Response: 70-15k Hz +/- 4 dB
- Input Sensitivity: 350 mV
- Max Power Consumption: 15W
There isn't much that jumps off the spec sheet to us, and though we haven't auditioned them ourselves, Engadget "found the highs and mids to be shockingly accurate and lifelike, though the lows were predictably lacking." But hey, it's the unique design that these things are obviously all about, and if you're running out of Twilight gear and smartphone accessories to buy your teen this holiday season, these might not be a bad way to spend a Benjamin.
