I think this tablet will have the same problem as the Acer Iconia w500; while it may have good hardware, Windows 7 is simply not optimized for tablet use. Maybe Windows 8 will be better, but for now Android is the way to go.

I think most people are missing the point of business tablets. While it is true that they would be a poor replacement for a desktop, or even a laptop, they do have a place. They are great for sharing information with customers and business partners. You can put the information right in front of them, and manipulate it with your hands. There isn't a bulky keyboard in the way. You can even do it standing up, which is not easy with a laptop. These slates are not targeted at the general consumer. It isn't made to be a media consumption device like the ipad. Although $1700 is steap, it really is no more than a core i7 laptop, and with two batteries installed the battery life may actually be half decent. I wouldn't buy one for myself, but I would certainly recommend it to our sales and marketing department.

Specs are really impressive but what about battery life ? Core i7, 8Gig Ram 320Gig hard drive not SSD , 12 inch screen  mean a few hours of battery life maximum. Really ????  Am i missing something ?

is it really that big of a pain to use a laptop?

Hmm, I feel that tablets and laptops are not the ideal sollution for any office. They are great when the executive has to be away from the office for such long period. But why spend $1,749 on a tablet for every employee in your firm when you can just pay $200 for a Dell/HP?

I have to ask what kind of heat would this thing produce? Myself though, for that kind of money, I would rather have a laptop.

Looks like there's an extra 9 in that price :)

I see someone fixed the typo in the price.

It's still quite expensive for what's basically a touchscreen ultra-portable with no keyboard.

Nice tablet, but they've chosen a rather odd pricing strategy... "$1,7499" o_O
