To view the article I had to tell NoScript to allow the page, then close the tab, then click on the link again.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out Symantec has a hidden department whose soul duty is to create viruses. Gotta keep yourself revalent.

For fun I looked up MaximumPC.COM on Symantec's website to check for any threats and found none listed for this site.

The site only shows a "sample" of the sites. What about the other 70 sites? Or does symantec just happen to own one of them? I smell a conspiracyyyyyy XD

That should be another test for your antivirus reviews. AUtomate a script that will broswe to those pages, click on several links, and then see how many threats were caught. Or maybe how many were not.
