SuperTalent Unveils Super Small "CoreStore" SSD Line
SuperTalent today announced its new CoreStore line of solid state drives "designed to bring a new level of performance to the SSD market." There are two versions -- one built with MLC memory and boasting 350MB/s read and 80MB/s write speeds, and another using SLC memory and rated at 350MB/s read and 220MB/s read speeds. That's pretty fast, but it's the size of the SSD that steals the show, and we're not talking about capacity.
These drives come in two formats, including mini-PCIe and PCIe Card. The mini-PCIe variant measures a scant 30mm x 50.95mm and looks as though you could slip it into your wallet's credit card pouch. Why so small? SuperTalent says its intended for embedded applications (tablets, anyone?), industrial PCs, all-in-one PCs, netbooks, and traditional notebooks.
The other version is intended to plug directly into a standard Gen 2 PCIe card slot, like you'd find in your desktop PC. Either way, the CoreStore line comes in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB capacities.

Need to know the pricing... Speed is pretty nice, though OCZ, Intel and other a promising higher reads and writes, though considering the size of these things... I'd jump.

I was in the OCZ Forum several months ago asking who was holding up the Sandforce controllers for MiniPCIe SSDs
We need them NOW!
-------------------------------
They should have listened because these things on the mini ITX and smaller form factors coming soon will be DA BOMB!
POW, right in yer face OCZ
