Sprint Unveils First 4G Phone: The HTC Evo
The first day of CTIA 2010 in Las Vegas mostly revolved around 4G technologies. Sprint was always expected to raise the WiMax flag at the convention, having bet big on the technology. It actually did follow the script to the hilt and unveiled its first WiMax phone just as expected. The Android-based HTC Evo 4G will become the first 3G/4G WiMax phone in the US when it debuts sometime during this summer. Aesthetically, the Evo 4G is redolent of HTC's HD2. It even boasts a large 4.3-inch touch screen just like its Windows Mobile-based cousin.
The powerful 1 GHz Snapdragon processor and 512MB of RAM inside the phone are enough to ensure that there is more to it than just ample screen space. An 8MP camera on the back, a 1.3MP camera on the front, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 1GB internal storage, A-GPS, web browser support for Adobe Flash, and single HDMI out port are some of its other notable features. A feature that stands out is its ability to double as a WiFi hotspot for up to eight devices.

OK.. To those members that don't have an Android or Iphone you need to get one. I don't want to hear anymore posts mentioning non cool phones. MaximumPC'ers need to have an Android or Iphone at the very least. Even if your broke like me get one. Beg, borrow or steal. Do what is necessary to get one of these phones. I don't care if it's a 1.5year old G1 just get one.
This android phone is not a phone at all. It's a communications officers tricorder.

oh man, another winner on the Sprint network. I can't wait to get this phone!
To all you Sprint haters out there, you are either paying WAY too much for comparable service (Verizon), way too much for inferior service (at&t), or paying about the same for lesser service (t-mobile)
Best hardware, superior service, best priced plans
If you don't use Sprint, you are pretty much a marketing sucker.

I was going to wait for the Nexus one, but the HTC with 4G is to good to pass. Once it release I will upgrade to it, most people hate sprint, but thier service has been pretty good. I get better 3G speed than the other. Yes, I had tried the other services (Att,Ver,TMob), but went to sprint as it gave me better speed.

Man talk about jack of all trades. And just imagine...
You know why it's got a 4.3" screen and high speed 4G support don't you? Internet porn. It all makes sense with it's big screen, support for flash and high speed that makes it the perfect device for watching streaming porn videos.
And I guess you can make phone calls with it too.,

As the iPad was to Misters Chan and Smith, so shall the Evo 4G be for me. I'm gonna buy the hell out of this thing (assuming it doesn't suck.)

Please, Sprint has faster downlaod service than ATT or Verizon, has much better pricing ona faster network than ATT, Verizon or T-Mobile. I pay $65 all inclusive for an all everything plan. ATT and Verizon start at $69 for talk only.

agreed. i did a price comparison using basic as identical plans as possible. sprint was cheapest, then t-mobile was 10-20 more, att was 30 more, verizon was 40 more for the same service.
for the same price as i was paying att, im getting double the minutes, and unlimited data for 2 lines. so all carriers can stick it. SPRINT ALL THE WAY
