Software Pirate Gets 41 Months in Prison, Loses His Ferrari

Timothy Kyle Dunaway, a Texas-based software pirate, who had earlier pleaded guilty to one count of criminal copyright violation, has been handed a 41-month jail term by a US District Judge. His clandestine network included 40 websites hosted on servers based in Austria and Malaysia.
He is said to have sold pirated business software through these websites. His activities are estimated to have cost $1 million to software authors.
Not only has he been ordered to pay $810,257 in damages, but the court has also sequestered two of his most cherished belongings, a Ferrari 348 TB and a Rolex watch. After being unnoticed for four prolific years, his business eventually came on the government’s radar screen in May 2008.

am thankful that you brought my mistake to light. Soon after reading about my folly, I plunged deep into a stupor
and was close to committing suicide. Then the thought that it was a minor loss of form struck me and I retreated from the brink....lol. Anyways, I have corrected the headline. Thanks and Cheers

One of the most common usage/spelling errors and here it is on a professional magazine's website. Ugh.
I suppose it would be accurate usage if he set his Ferrari free.

If you ever took journalism, you would know that that is a proper headline.
That is a sad guy...Looses his watch and $800,000 cus he is steeling. If you steel you will get punished...

Zstadt is right. It should be lose not loose. Is he untightening lug nuts on his ride or is he having his Ferrari Repo'd? He is losing his Ferrari. Is he taking things that aren't his or is he putting steel plating on everything he owns? He is taking things that don't belong to him (stealing). Again, Zstadt is right. Go open an english book and stop wasting everyones time, VistaGeek. What crackpot journalism classes are you taking?

Actually, the headline should read, "...Loses His Ferrari", and subsequently, your post should read, "...he is stealing", and "If you steal..." (I won't even point out "cus"). Had you taken elementary school English, you would know how to properly use these words in context.

If nobody made a big deal of it, I wouldn't have noticed. I'm an exceptional speller, but I don't read the headline too much because like most people I see keywords and judging on those I decide if I'm interested, In this case I seen Pirate and Ferrari. However....if he could afford both a Rolex, a Ferrari and have change left over to live...why not start a software business from home, hire people to make something we don't have or need a more efficient/cheaper alternative to, and then sell... If he could figure out how to keep under radar for 4 years and make money doing so, he sure as hell could have found a better idea for making money without risk of losing everything.
