There's one word that will stop people from getting this.

Origin.

I wonder if the DRM will make it have the same reception as Simcity 2013?

Problem w/ The Sims is it's well liked by the casual gamer crowd but the system specs require much more than your typical casual gamer PC.

Sorry honey but that game won't run on your 5 yr old lappy w/ integrated graphics.

If they do anything remotely close to what they did to Simcity 2013, trust and believe me they will lose a good majority of their customer base. This game the Sims and simcity 2013 are single player games. If they come with that always online DRM bullcrap they are going to lose not only money, but gamers like myself. They best heed the warning they got from Simcity 2013 and do the right thing this time around.

The Sims are great if you like system crashes and lockups.

Just not that interested in another flaky Sims game.

Well, I guess they better scrap the whole project then since you won't be buying it.

If it's more of the same, aka the last iteration, I know a lot of people that will pass.

I agree with dedgar, my wife complains how buggy the game is even on an X4 965@4.0Ghz with a HD5850 that can play all the other A list games without problems. If they Don't bother addressing their previous issues whats the point.

+1
The Sims 3 crashes all the time on my girlfriend's laptop. Granted it's not a phenom with discrete gfx lol.
