Silicon Power Launches Stylish Stream S20 External HDD
Portable hard drive have one purpose in mind, and that's to safely shuttle your data from point A to point B. That doesn't sound very glamorous, but even so, there's no rule that says external HDDs have to look drab. Silicon Power's new Stream S20 portable hard drive looks anything but with its sleek design and metallic purple paint job, which the company says "demonstrates its luxurious style" while "declaring its superiority" with performance to boot.
The 2.5-inch Stream S20 boasts up to 1TB of of external storage combined with a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface. This, Silicon Power says, means you can copy a 25GB Blu-ray disc in as little as 70 seconds.
"Just like sports cars nowadays SP Stream S20 is designed to be environment friendly and green," Silicon Power says. "With built-in LED status indicators, users can easily identify its power and transfer status. SP Stream S20 also has a power saving mode so that when there is no read/ write process for 10 minutes, hard drive automatically switches to power saving / hibernation mode. This drastically reduces power consumption and is in-line with the global calling to reduce carbon emissions."
Stream S20 drives are available in 500GB, 640GB, 750GB, and 1TB capacities. No word on price or availability.

That looks like something you would see on the dashboard of a pimped out Impala or something. Not only is the design corny but the color is beyond stupid. Had it been red or blue I could see it a bit more tolerable. I wouldn't get caught with that drive in my laptop backpack.
