Second Generation Classmate+ Laptop from Lenovo Learns a Lesson in Toughness
Lenovo this week added a new student to its education roster, the second generation Classmate+ laptop. It's available in both clamshell and convertible laptop form factors and based on the Intel Learning Series, which are purpose built netbooks with full PC functionality designed especially for students K-8 with enhanced ruggedness, added security features, Atom processors, and increased battery life.

"By joining with Intel to create the new Lenovo Classmate+ Clamshell and Classmate+ Convertible laptops, we’re demonstrating how mobile computing fits into any learning environment, no matter the location or budget."
The new Classmate+ netbooks feature a keyboard with enhanced water resistance, a tougher corner design, reinforced steel hinge, and strengthened DC jack, Lenovo says. Specs consist of a 10.1-inch screen, Atom N2600 processor, up to 2GB of DDR3 memory, up to 320GB of hard drive storage or up to a 32GB SSD, three USB ports, VGA and optional HDMI connectivity, and a 6-cell battery good for up to 10 hours of run time.
