Seagate's Self-Encrytping Drives Top 1 Million Shipments

With millions of laptops going missing every year, its good to know that Seagate is stepping up its game. It would be interesting to see this type of security for the consumer laptops.

Right now i'm using Windows 7 Ultimate's Bit-locker capability. The problem with that is that my laptop doesn't have a TPM chip so the encryption isn't the best for it.

Another cool feature that i know consumers would like is the ability to re-purpose HDD without the need to overwrite or completely destory the hard drive. Consumers are concerned about their information getting leaked, and at the same times, stores can reuse these hard drive and sell them back to the customer. Its a Win/Win situation.
