how is this any better than an enterprise drive? what is this thing really? Video and photo specs for hard drives and storage have never been anything more than cheap fake marketing ploys i dont see anything to indicate that this is any different. What technology specifically is used in these to address video?

I guess the fact that its 2.5 & not 3.5

Needs to be in the TBytes realm to matter.
These drives are too small and chaining to 500's?
Give me a break.

Update us in a few years when these are at higher densities.

Agreed. I'll be more interested when this drive reaches the 2TB+ range.

that would be welcome anytime in my house. the DVR from twc sucks as it is slow and pretty loud

oh you know what else would be welcome in my house? actual flooring that doesn't consist of dirt.

~"SATA 3Gbps interface and 16GB of cache"
Sounds like they are "borrowing" from the Momentus line with that much Cache... 12 simultaneous streams of HD huh ? MPEG2 or MPEG 4? Either way it would be nice to see them design something for the Digital content creation market... Transcoding is a b***h if you don't have the grunt and the throughput for it.. either way ..exciting!
