Samus Arm Cannon Halloween Mod is Seriously Awesome
What do you do when your 11-year-old son tells you he wants to dress up as a chick for Halloween? You help him build a Samus Aran costume, of course!
Little Jospeh DeRose wanted to do exactly that, and so his father decided to help him construct a replica of Samus Aran's Varia Suit from Metroid Prime, starting with the awesome arm cannon complete with a speaker and LED lights. Best of all, the father-son team posted an 8-minute worklog on YouTube for all to see.
Check it out below, then hit the jump and tell us if you've seen any noteworthy Halloween costume mods.

*The background of Halloween stretches far beyond the advent of trick or treating to Samhain, an historic Celtic festival in medieval Ireland. After several centuries of Pagan traditions, the Pope sought to impose Catholicism on the occasion with All Saints Day. Trick or treat is an American invention, although it has roots in both the Pagan and Catholic celebrations, as well as the advertising efforts sweets companies within the present day. Today this is one Holiday you really don't have to even take out a pay day loans to celebrate.

Samus is a female ex-marine bounty hunter usually fitted with a powered armor suit, Orphaned at a young age, Samus was brought up by the Chozo alien race, who trained her as a warrior. The Chozo also gave her the Power. Suit that power suit is not gender specific its actually Alien in design so its ok I don't think they're training a crossdresser just enabling a fan of the series to learn how to fabricate his own stuff. Good parents. Cool project, Good stuff.
