Samsung has uploaded a video to YouTube showing brief glimpses of a new notebook model the company describes as its "newest Windows-8 ready innovation." The title is "Something Smart is Coming," and other than that, there aren't a whole lot of clues to decipher. Considering that Samsung is hyping this machine as a Windows 8 device, it's probably a safe bet it will ship with a touchscreen to take advantage of Microsoft's next generation operating system.
The glimpses, however brief, also reveal what looks like a brushed aluminum finish, ultra-thin design (Ultrabook, perhaps?), and a headphone jack on the top of the display, a hint that this could be a convertible notebook that doubles as a tablet.
Check out the embedded video below and let us know what you think.
Of all the problems I could have envisioned with the launch of Windows 8 and Windows 8 devices, I never would have predicted that "too many cool devices to choose from" might be on my list.
It appears to be their new Series 5 Hybrid. Screen detaches from keyboard to become a tablet similiar to the ASUS Transformer. It will use a stylus like the Galaxy Note's S-Pen. Supposedly it will have an 11.6 inch and you will be able to get it with an Intel Atom Clover Trail processor or a Core i5 processor. What little of it you can see in the video does look nice.
